This is an original work by the famous French artist, Raymond Savignac. Savignac was known for his playful creations and humorous designs.
This work is work has been painted in Gouache, the overall condition is very good. It is signed by Savignac in the top left hand corner.
Raymond Savignac, who died at age 94 in 2002, was the last of the great Parisian poster artists. For several decades, his works lit up the Métro, and those by Savignac were the most entertainingly unmissable. Instead of glorifying the merchandise, as his mentor Cassandre did, Savignac made gentle fun of what was being sold.

Raymond Savignac
Raymond Savignac was the last of the great Parisian poster artists. He was born on November 6, 1907, in Paris. His work is distinguished by a humorous simplicity. Self-taught, he started designing posters under the direction of Cassandre but met his greatest success with the poster for Yoplait yogurt, which featured the udders of a cow directly supplying the "milk yogurt" with milk. For several decades, his works lit up the Métro, his designs were unmissable. He died on October 31, 2002, in Trouville-sur-Mer, aged 94.
