About the Item
Oficial and Original Poster for 1968 Mexico Olympic Games officially known as the Games of the XIX Olympic held from 12-27 October 1968, featuring the iconic eye-catching event logo design by the notable American graphic designer Lance Wyman depicting the title Mexico 68 in the centre interlinked with the five coloured Olympic rings logo surrounded by black and white repetitive lines adding to the mind-bending kinetic effect to the image that also represents early Mexican culture and folk art patterns. The 1968 Summer Olympics were the first Olympic Games to be staged in Latin America. Lance Wyman worked on creating the identity of the 1968 Summer Olympic Games with the award winning Mexican architect Pedro Ramirez Vazquez. This poster has the embossed mark that it was part of the official merchandise offered for the Olympic Games.
