Créée en 1889 par Messieurs Dupont et Roussel, la société Dupont d’Isigny est l’un des plus anciens confiseurs français. L’activité de la société débute par la production et le négoce de beurre d’Isigny. A partir de 1894, sur le site de la Cambe (14), elle devient une laiterie spécialisée dans la production de lait, de beurre et de fromages. En 1932, l’activité se diversifie avec la fabrication de biscuits et des fameux caramels. Leonetto Cappiello est un peintre, illustrateur, caricaturiste et affichiste italien, naturalisé français en 1930. Sa carrière d'affichiste commence en 1900 et se poursuit jusqu'aux années 1930. Il reste fidèle à l'imprimerie Vercasson jusqu'au début des années 1920, poursuit chez les Imprimeries réunies et commence, à la même période, à travailler régulièrement pour l'éditeur Devambez, avec qui il signe, de 1921 à 1936, un contrat d'exclusivité.
