About the Item
Philippe Chappelier was a very talented caricaturist, with a great sense of humor and designed a handful of truly exceptional posters. In this Art Nouveau turn-of-the-century poster, he paints a car driving in the countryside, surprising an unsuspecting couple and a pair of ducks who don't know what to do next. The driver screams at the couple to move out of his way. This is a rare Automobile advertisement poster for acetylene headlamps from the turn of the century. Ducellier was and is a famous for automobile electrical components company, who was purchased by Valeo in the 1980’s.
