This bright and colourful French poster from the 1950s promotes Saludos Amigos — the sixth animated feature from Walt Disney Studios. Originally released in Latin America in 1942 and in the United States in 1943, Saludos Amigos marked a unique moment in Disney history as the first of the studio’s “package films,” combining several short segments into a single feature.
Produced during World War II as part of the U.S. government's “Good Neighbor Policy,” the film was intended to strengthen diplomatic and cultural ties with Latin America. Blending lively animation with documentary-style travel footage, Saludos Amigos introduced audiences to beloved characters like Donald Duck and José Carioca, while showcasing the music, landscapes, and spirit of South America.

Poster for the promotion of Gypsy Cigarettes, we see a woman smoking a cigarette with a cigarette holder. She is holding a packet of Gypsy Cigarettes in her other hand. The poster is divided into three colors, yellow, blue and green.
Gitanes is a brand of cigarettes produced by Seita, a subsidiary of the Imperial Brands group, created in 1910 at the same time as the Gauloises brand.
In 2014, part of its production was relocated to Poland following the closure of the Seita plant in Nantes.
The first Gitanes packages were designed in 1927 by Maurice Giot. This one represents Spanish symbols like the tambourine, a fan, and oranges.
