Extremely rare first-year-of-release Japanese film poster for 1960s Hammer classic She, starring Ursula Andress, Peter Cushing and Bernard Cribbins. This Japanese poster features one of the best designs for the film.
Set in 1918, She follows three British ex-soldiers—Leo Vincey, Major Holly, and their friend Job—who, while traveling in the Middle East, encounter a mysterious figure who offers Leo a map to a hidden city deep in the desert. Intrigued, the trio embarks on a perilous journey that leads them to the lost city of Kuma, ruled by an immortal queen known as Ayesha, or “She Who Must Be Obeyed.”
Ayesha believes that Leo is the reincarnation of her former lover, Kallikrates, whom she killed in a fit of jealousy 2,000 years ago. Intent on rekindling their love, she offers Leo the chance to join her in immortality by stepping into the Flame of Eternal Life. But as the allure of power and eternal youth battles with the cost of human mortality and the consequences of obsession, Leo is forced to make a fateful decision.
The film blends adventure, fantasy, and romance, showcasing themes of eternal love, colonial-era exploration, and the dangers of power unchecked.
