About the Item

Original Italian film poster for Spellbound, 1945 This film noir was directed by Alfred Hitchcock, and stars Ingrid Bergman, Gregory Peck, Michael Chekhov and Leo G. Carroll. Dr. Edwardes (played by Gregory Peck) takes over as head of mental hospital, and it isn't long before psychiatrist, Dr. Constance Petersen (played by Ingrid Bergman) falls for his charms, until she notices that all is not what it is perceived to be. This poster was designed by the wonderful Italian artist Anselmo Ballester (1897-1974) it was created for the re-release of the film in 1955. This poster is conservation linen backed and would be shipped rolled ion a strong tube by Federal Express. Poster, that has only surfaced a few times. Remaining very bright. Minor restoration to folds. This poster is conservation Linen-backed and would be shipped rolled in a strong tube.

    Repaired: Excellent condition, with the colours remaining very bright. Very minor restoration to folds. This is quite standard as this poster was folded when printed and never sent out unfolded. Wear consistent with age and use.
