Superb original Tarantula 1955 US 1 Sheet film poster designed by Reynold Brown. We love this exciting design of terrified citizens fleeing a gigantic mutant spider!
Reynold Brown (1917–1991) was an influential American realist illustrator and painter, best known for his iconic mid‑century Hollywood movie posters.
From the early 1950s into the mid-1960s, Brown produced more than 275 movie posters for studios like MGM, Universal, Disney, Warner Bros., and American International Pictures. Notable designs include Creature from the Black Lagoon, Attack of the 50 Foot Woman and Tarantula!
Reynold Brown bridged the worlds of comic art, aviation illustration, fine commercial art, and fine art painting with exceptional skill and versatility. From ghost‑inking Tailspin Tommy to shaping visual culture with unforgettable sci‑fi and horror posters, his legacy remains a touchstone for mid‑century American illustration—respected in both the poster‑art community and the broader history of visual arts.
This original vintage movie poster is in fabulous condition. It has been professionally linen-backed and is sized 27 1/8 x 40 3/4 inches (plus a little more with the linen-backing). It will be sent rolled (unframed).
