About the Item
Original US film poster for 1971 film Walkabout. This film was directed by Nicolas Roeg, and stars Jenny Agutter, David Gulpilil and Luc Roeg. It is the story of two siblings from the city, who are inadvertently stranded in the Australian outback. The siblings learn to survive from an aboriginal boy, whilst he is on his ritual walkabout from his tribe. This poster was signed by Nicolas Roeg at the BFI, London. His son, Luc Roeg, and Jenny Agutter signed it later at a retrospective of Nicholas Roeg's films.
It is rare for anyone to have an original film poster signed, as the majority of signatures are on pieces of paper, photographs and video/dvd sleeves. It is unusual to have the film's poster with you when you try to obtain signatures. The poster is from the Sohal collection. It is conservation linen backed and would be shipped rolled in a strong tube.
