Ann McCall is a highly recognized Canadian painter and printmaker known for her atmospheric landscapes and depictions of natural phenomena.
Born in Toronto in 1941, she has lived and worked in Montreal, Quebec, for her entire professional career. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from McGill University in 1964 and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University in 1978, where she specialized in printmaking.
Her works often explore the contrast between peace and serenity and the turbulence found in nature. More recently, her interests have included environmental issues such as clear-cutting and climate change.
McCall has had over 65 solo exhibitions and participated in more than 250 group exhibitions internationally. Her work is held in numerous public and corporate collections worldwide, including the Canada Council Art Bank and the Winnipeg Art Gallery.
