Publisher: Maxfield Parrish (MP) Technique: Produced as a color lithograph or photographic print (chromolithograph). Subject: Features Parrish's mistress, Susan Lewin, in a lush garden setting. Signature: "Parrish Blue" and Lighting -The print is renowned for its deep, rich "Parrish blue" skies and water, combined with brilliant gold hues to create a luminous, otherworldly atmosphere. Technique and Composition: Parrish used an innovative glazing technique, which involved applying multiple transparent layers of paint to create depth and a three-dimensional effect. He often used geometric patterns and projected images for accuracy.
