About the Item
"Floral Masterpiece": Large Vintage Botanical Lithograph after Joseph Nigg,
Printed by Mourlot, 1947
A magnificent and large-scale botanical lithograph, beautifully reproducing a painting by the celebrated Austrian artist Joseph Nigg (1782–1863). Produced in 1947 by the world-renowned Ateliers Lithographiques Mourlot in Paris, this print captures the opulent detail and vibrant coloration of Nigg's original work.
The composition features an elaborate, overflowing vase of flowers set upon a marble ledge, teeming with tulips, peonies, poppies, and delicate wildflowers, accompanied by grapes and peaches at the base. Nigg was famously a specialist in porcelain painting, and this lithograph faithfully translates his signature style—marked by precision, luminosity, and a jeweled palette—onto paper.
