About the Item

Collection of nine 18th Century tropical botanical engravings by Georg Dionysius Ehret. Hand coloured prints depicting local flora of Barbados. Each is dedicated to a prominent person in elaborate calligraphy and accompanied by a rendering of the dedicatee’s coat of arms. The prints come from a diverse natural history illustrated work by the Reverend Griffith Hughes dated 1750 . Presented in gilt bobbin frames.
