Pyall A superb early English satirical print, drawn by Ego (Egerton), engraved by Henry Pyall, and published in London in 1827 by Thomas McLean, a specialist in early 19th-century British caricature. This is an original hand-colored etching depicting a gentleman suffering from a severe sore throat in his bedroom, surrounded by remedies. The exaggerated humor, expressive gestures, and attention to detail perfectly illustrate the satirical spirit of English Regency/pre-Victorian times. Inscription at lower left: Ego. DEL.t (draughtsman). Inscription at center: McLean, London, 1827 (publisher). Inscription at lower right: H. Pyall Sc (engraver). Frame dimensions: 32.5 × 39 cm / 12.8 × 15.4 in. Image dimensions visible under mat: 18.5 × 23.5 cm / 7.3 × 9.3 in. Framed in the 1950s with a black mat, ready to hang. Good overall condition. Original colors well preserved. The piece has a beautiful decorative presence and significant historical interest. An original collector's item, ideal for enthusiasts of English caricatures, satirical art, and early 19th-century history.
