About the Item

A lovely set of four 18th century style portrait engravings with allegorical scenes presented in giltwood frames under glass with very fine hand-colored matting. The engravings were done by George Vertue and published by J P Knapton, and in the collection of Dr. Richard Mead. They are of William Harvey, M.D., Ben Johnson, Charles Howard Earl of Nottingham, and William Cavendish Duke of New Castle. Late 20th Century Each measures: 19"W x 1"D x 26"H Excellent vintage condition.
