About the Item
Handcoloured copperplate engraving from Rene Primevere Lesson's Complements de Buffon, Pourrat Freres, Paris, 1838
The long-billed corella or slender-billed corella (Cacatua tenuirostris) is a cockatoo native to Australia.
The rose-breasted cockatoo, best known by its native aboriginal Australian name "galah". Extremely intelligent and enormously fond of humans, this pretty pink bird can readily learn to say many words and do complicated tricks with regular training. This hardy bird can live in some of the more extreme areas of Australia.
It is a small engraving but, showing these birds in a nice frame on the wall, it will look beautiful!
