Ito Takashi Landscape Woodblock: Mt. Fuji from Susono. Beautiful Japanese woodblock with good colors; under glass with 1960s era matting and framing. The black frame, with gold trim, shows minor wear. Mat opening Size: 10 inches x 15 inches. The framed dimensions: 16 inches H x 20 inches W.
Ito Takashi (1894-1982) primarily worked as a painter and started making color woodblock prints in 1922, which he did intermittently throughout the rest of his career. He designed about 85 woodblock prints from the early 1920s through 1965. "Mt. Fuji from Susono" is a work from the early 1950s.
