An original antique engraving by Johann Adam Klein (1792-1875) titled "Österreichische Soldaten zu Pferd," which translates to "Austrian Soldiers on Horseback" in English. It is a black-and-white print. The engraving is signed and dated 1812 in the lower right corner.
Johann Adam Klein was a German artist known for his skills in etching, painting, and lithography. He received artistic training from a young age and went on to study under various mentors, including Ambrosius Gabler, who taught him the art of etching and lithography. Klein's work primarily focused on rural scenes, particularly those featuring horses and livestock. He also created illustrations of historical military events, foreign ethnic types, and realistic portraits of friends and acquaintances.
