Pair of engravings illustrating 2 major episodes of the French Revolution: * the day of August 10, 1792: the storming of the Tuileries ending with the arrest of Louis XVI and his family and marking the end of the monarchy With the mentions: "drawn by Monnet 1792" and "engraved by Helman 1793", "in Paris at the author's rue St Honoré the carriage entrance next to the cutler n°1497 and at Ponce engraver, exterior cloister of Val-de-Grâce n°238" * the day of January 21, 1793: Louis XVI is guillotined on the Place de la Révolution (now Place de la Concorde) Described as follows: "Day of January 21, 1793, the death of Louis Capet on the Place de la Révolution, Presented to the National Convention on 30 Germinal by Helman, in Paris at the author's rue Honoré n°1497, near the Jacobins" With the mentions: "drawn by Monnet 1793" and "engraved by Helman in the 2nd year of the French Republic" These two engravings are framed (20th century baguette) under marie-louise: some foxing, stains, folds and tears - wear to the frame Not examined without frame Dimensions with frame: 64.5 x 54 cm Dimensions of the view (in marie-louise): 46.5 x 35cm
