About the Item
The RMS Aquitania was a British ocean liner of the Cunard Line
in service from 1914 to 1950. She was designed by Leonard
Peskett and built by John Brown
Company in Clydebank,
Scotland. Aquitania was the third in Cunard's grand trio of
express liners, preceded by the Mauretania and Lusitania, and
was the only one to survive both World War I and World War II.
Known as "The Ship Beautiful," the Aquitania was celebrated for
her luxurious interiors and elegant public rooms. She served as
a troop transport and hospital ship during both World Wars
The artist, DWYN ROSENKYNGE, is known for maritime art. This print is from a private collector and shows the ocean liner departing New York City in 1920. Overall in very good condition and size, a nice piece of history.
