This is classic Louis Armstrong in a print by the prolific American photographer Slim Aarons, known for his images of celebrities. The setting here is unusual as the jazz great Louis Armstrong visits Rome in 1949. He rides a Vespa scooter outside the Coliseum in Rome, as his wife Lucille holds on for dear life. She is controlling the Vespa as she steers the handlebars. Her husband is in his element and points his trumpet to the sky. Clearly, he could multitask. This poster-print was a lucky find at an estate sale in East Hollywood where we found many collectible examples of framed works from the collection of an avid art lover.
