The Maiden Voyage to Disaster is a print by John Stephen Smith that depicts the sinking of the Titanic. The Titanic sank in 1912 after striking an iceberg on its maiden voyage from Southampton, England to New York City. The ship's captain, Edward John Smith, died in the disaster and his body was never recovered. Captain Smith, a Potteries-born sailor, was the man who captained the Titanic on her maiden voyage in 1912.
