About the Item
Thomas Earlom's impressive and successful series of sepia engravings after the Claude Lorrain drawings depicting figural wharf scenes made during 1774-1776 for a total of 195 images. This listing is for No. 2 and No. 5 both dated Jan. 1774.
Both taken "From the Original Drawings in the Collection of the Duke of Devonshire.
Presented in craved gilt frames with over-lapping leaves and beaded motif, matted and glazed.
Dimensions:
Sight: 11 1/2" x 9 1/2"
Frame: 19 3/4" x 22" x 1 1/2"
Condition: both acid burnt around the perimeter of the print. One print with a square silhouette to the upper left of the print. Both loose in frames.
