About the Item
An impressively scaled copperplate engraving on laid paper of the Pyramid of Cestius in Rome which is the tomb for Caius Cestius. It is built of brick faced with marble and like other tombs situated outside the walls of Rome. The work is part of a series of a 101 views of the most significant monuments of Ancient Rome, a project that was begun in 1819 and published in 1822.
