About the Item
Offered is an authentic Plastra wall shelving unit designed by Jean-Lin Viaud for Prisunic, France, circa 1970. A hallmark of French Space Age design, the piece is executed in glossy thermoformed plastic in a deep chocolate brown. Three recessed compartments are framed by softly rounded apertures that read sculptural without sacrificing function. The Plastra program formed part of Prisunic’s celebrated initiative to bring contemporary design to a wider public; today, original examples are favored by collectors and decorators for their pop plastic aesthetic, accessible scale, and unmistakable seventies character.
This unit presents excellent vintage condition with unobtrusive wear consistent with age. It mounts easily via discreet fixing points and can also be displayed atop a console. Ideal for an entry, bathroom, or kitchen—and compelling in dialogue with Kartell and Guzzini plastics or chrome furniture of the same era. Ships from Italy, professionally packed.
