About the Item

20th century French vintage collectible wall shelf in black-lacquered steel tube and perforated sheet (rigitulle), designed by Mathieu Matégot in the mid-1950s. The sinuous, treble-clef silhouette frames two openwork cubbies, yielding a light, graphic composition that reads as both sculpture and storage. A quintessential Matégot piece ideal for books and objets, and at home in contemporary rooms or serious mid-century design collections. Origin: France Period: circa 1955 Materials: Black-lacquered steel tube and perforated sheet (rigitulle) Condition: Very good vintage condition; minor age-consistent wear and a uniform patina; ready to hang. Mounting: Discreet wall hardware (two anchor points recommended). Notes: Known as the “Clé de Sol” model—an emblematic Matégot motif where musical contour becomes structure. ------------------- We are an exhibition space and an online destination established by the passionate art director behind Jonathan Amar Studio.
