About the Item

A pair of English corner cabinets from the late 18th century, with chinoiserie motifs. Born in England during the reign of King George III, this exquisite pair of late 18th-century corner cabinets captivates with its elegant black and gold chinoiserie motifs. The intricate decor features traditional scenes, blending delicate architectures, lush trees, exotic birds, and graceful characters, all set against the rich, dark background of the cabinets' two frontal doors. These doors open to reveal vibrant red coral painted inner shelves, offering ample storage space while adding a striking contrast to the exterior design. The upper sections are adorned with graduated open shelves, perfect for displaying cherished items or books. The overall silhouette is both graceful and commanding, showcasing the sophisticated craftsmanship of the period. The gold accents, delicately applied, highlight the intricate chinoiserie patterns, bringing a luxurious yet refined presence to the pieces. These English chinoiserie corner cabinets, dating back to circa 1790, are not only functional but also serve as stunning decorative elements. Whether placed in a living room, dining area, or study, they are sure to infuse any space with a touch of Georgian elegance and exotic allure. The combination of the red interiors, black exteriors, and gold detailing makes them a perfect addition to any collection of fine antique furniture, offering both aesthetic appeal and practical use.
