Decorate a wall, grand staircase, or library with this elegant and colorful antique "chasse à courre" tapestry. Handwoven in Aubusson, France circa 1880, this rectangular wall hanging features an intricate pastoral composition framed by its original floral and fruit border. The foreground depicts a nobleman on horseback leading a small hunting party, followed by attendants holding leashed hounds through a wooded landscape filled with lush foliage and flowering plants. In the distance, a royal procession passes in a horse-drawn carriage before a hilltop château, creating a rich sense of narrative and depth. Executed with fine detail and soft coloration, this decorative textile showcases an expressive palette of green, beige, red, and blue tones. The tapestry is in excellent condition with a new canvas backing for stability and preservation.
