authentic Ottoman Turkish hand-embroidered textile. This piece features the iconic Imperial Tughra (the Sultan’s calligraphic monogram) at its center, surrounded by a delicate arrangement of celestial crescents and botanical motifs.
This textile is a prime example of the "Bindallı" or "Tel Kırma" tradition, where metallic threads are meticulously worked into fine fabric to create a shimmering, embossed effect.
Period: Late 19th Century to Early 20th Century (Circa 1880–1920)
Symbolism: The central Tughra represents power and protection, while the Crescents and Flowers are classic symbols of Ottoman beauty and the Islamic period.
Base Fabric: Fine hand-loomed linen or silk-gauze (typically known as bürümcük), known for its lightweight, slightly crinkled texture.
Vintage/Antique Condition: This piece shows a beautiful, authentic patina consistent with age.
