The tapestry is framed by an ornate border featuring an ornate foliage foliage design in the Aubusson style.
Aubusson tapestries originated from the town of Aubusson in France, known as a significant center for tapestry weaving since the 17th century. Flemish tapestries are also prominent and share similar landscape themes.
