LES IFS DANS LA VALLEE
«J’ai mis trois ifs dans mon jardin
Les ai plantés hier matin
Les retrouvais le lendemain
En bas de la pente, chez les voisins
Je replantais au même endroit
Trois nouveaux ifs de second choix
Et le soir même fut ébahi
Les recomptant d’en trouver six
Les premiers étant revenus
D’une expérience mal vécue
J’ai donc six ifs bien verts et drus

This tapestry is number 2 of a cycle of 4, named « Les quatre saisons de l’Hêtre ».
« The four seasons of the beech » playing with the pronounciation « hêtre/être » (meaning beech/being).
The cycle was born from the meeting of Maïlys Seydoux-Dumas and Haïm Kern who wrote the poems accompanying each tapestry and each season.
The tapestries are exhibited at Musée Michel Ciry at Varengeville-sur-Mer until the 22nd of September.
