About the Item
A super-chic pair of very decorative silvered wall appliqués or sconces, designed in the mid-18th century style. Very rare and highly sought after design. Probably Venetian, late 19th – early 20th century.
Why we like them
Wonderfully decorative, these appliques are finely sculpted with bold foliate decoration in the rococo taste and will readily suit a refined classical interior, as well as an eclectic home. They have been painstakingly cleaned of many later finishes to reveal most of their original silvered decoration, applied over clay bole. Excellent for wall light conversion.
