About the Item
17th century Italian hand-sculpted plaster angel head with coordinating peridot on lucite and framed with natural-forming emerald and mica. The putto (angel head in Italian) has been naturally distressed with age and was originally part of a decorative relief on the interior of a historical church in Italy. The peridot has been added to the side of the putto. The lucite has been framed with organic emerald and mica and coordinates with the green pigments of the putto.
The piece is put together by Jean O'Reilly Barlow, the artist and creative director of Interi. The date of manufacture reflects when she preserved and transformed the piece and the period shows that the Italian putto is originally 17th century.
Together, the piece creates a historically significant yet contemporary work of art to grace any wall or space.
