About the Item

Late 17th century Italian Baroque lintel carved in triangular shape with acanthus scrolls, centered by a winged cherub face. Polychrome painted. Superb Italian craftsmanship. Previously refinished. Currently mounted to an upholstered headboard panel; could be remounted professionally to another substrate. Carved lintel measures: Height 37.5", width 55.5", depth 5.5" Headboard panel including carved lintel measures: Height 74.5", width 67", depth 7.5" Sotheby's New York, 3 October 2008 Lot 202.
