About the Item
This captivating piece dating back to the seventies is a modern three-dimensional wall sculpture crafted from metal and finished with a rich, gold powder coating. Originally a light fixture in an Italian hotel but sadly that's the only information the dealer whom I purchased it from could divulge at the time.
It features a dense, repeating geometric pattern composed of numerous circular tubes, or rings, that are meticulously attached together with small round-headed rivets to form a substantial, square panel. The design is a sophisticated take on contemporary art, engineered to add both texture and depth to any interior space. The tubes are two different lengths one shorter than the other.
The sculpture masterfully plays with light and shadow, as the varying depths and sizes of the golden circles create a dynamic visual effect, offering an optical illusion from different angles. The luxurious gold finish catches ambient light, shifting from a soft gleam to a striking shine throughout the day, ensuring it serves as an eye-catching focal point. Two hooks slot into the small holes which feature in every tube which are part of the original design. The piece weighs around 3kgs so not too heavy.
There is some age related wear in places which is barely noticeable and one or two of the circles are slightly bent.
