About the Item
Antique French Louis XIV Carved Walnut Wall Decoration with Marble Inset will make a splendid accent piece, especially over the mantel, a cased opening, or over a large doorway or window. Sculpted from sumptuous French walnut, it features a boldly arched center flanked by corbel style supports on each side, with hand-carved accents depicting floral sprays, foliates and exquisite rosettes, all set upon a complex molding scheme with raised panels for amazing visual effect. The center has been fitted with luxuriously veined marble surrounded by the artful contours of the frame trimmed with beaded molding.
At the time of this posting, a slightly scaled down "little sister" version from the same maker is still available.
