About the Item

A mid century bird with flower wall sculpture made of a composite material and sand giving the piece a coastal and natural feel . Created by Barbara Field a black female artist and business woman who's design of animals and birds were sculpted by hand so no two are identical . Barbara was a very accomplished artist in many different medias including painting , pottery , ceramics and sculpture and was from Chicago . This piece was reproduced by Academy Arts , Chicago under her supervision . Retains the label and bio of the artist and manufacturer to the verso, from the original owners house who's place was featured in Better Homes and Gardens magazine during the period .
