About the Item
1950s woodcut wooden print block by Pauline Jacobsen. Very nicely detailed, hand carved lime wood then used for printing. Exceptionally well carved. The artist would often use the grain of the lime wood as a feature of the design. Remnants of the ink remain on the woodcut surface from the print process. Titled "The Good Shepherd"
Pauline Jacobsen was well known for your wooden print block carvings of religious pictures. These are the original print blocks that were used to print the pictures.
I have other carvings by her also listed.
Could be used as a wall hanging.
