About the Item

Ceramic wall relief designed by Allan Ebeling and produced in Torshälla, Sweden, during the 1930s. The motif depicts the Virgin Mary holding the Christ Child, rendered in a simplified and stylized form. The relief is finished in a glazed palette of green, yellow, and brown tones, with natural variation that follows the modeled surface. The composition is compact and balanced, with an emphasis on form and clarity. A restrained example of Allan Ebeling’s figurative work from the period.
