About the Item

Italian religious sculpture depicting Christ on the Cross, hand carved and lacquered in light ivory, dating from the late 18th century, lacking the arms and with missing at the feet and thong bow. Jesus' pose is traditional, with his face resting on his shoulder and his knees bent, this image of Christ's body, has an expressive ability that conveys suggestion, empathy, sorrow, resignation, serenity. This antique wall sculpture of crucified Jesus has a light ivory finish with red drops of blood in the side. Carved from stone pine wood, it is of Italian origin and dates from the last quarter of the 1700s. Italy, late 1700s Hauteur : 41 cm Width: 9.5cm Depth: 8 cm The sculpture is shipped from Italy.According to Italian law, a government license called Belle Arti is required for the export of any antique object.
