About the Item

Dramatic -- appropriately! -- and well crafted, this pair of copper repoussé, wall-mounted masks depict the classic faces of Comedy and Tragedy. The faces have a lovely coppery color giving evidence of gentle aging, while the surrounds have a mottled verdigris finish, applied by the Italian artisans who made these pieces in the 1940s. Each piece retains its "Made in Italy" label on the reverse.
