About the Item

“Uomini e Animali” is a unique wall sculpture by Italian artist Davide Moretto, entirely handcrafted in forged Corten steel and illuminated by a concealed warm white LED system (CRI 98+). Each segment of the composition is hammered, stretched and shaped by hand on the anvil, creating a dynamic web of linear figures that abstractly suggest the coexistence of human and animal forms. The work reads like a drawing in space, where iron replaces the graphite line and shadow becomes an active part of the composition. Moretto’s sculptural language resonates with the expressive tension of Alberto Giacometti, the spatial metal structures of Harry Bertoia, and the tradition of Italian forged-iron craft. The natural oxidation of Corten steel gives depth and material presence, while the integrated lighting transforms the piece into a luminous installation: sculpture and light merged into a single gesture. This is a one-of-a-kind work, signed by the artist. Ideal for collectors of contemporary Italian sculpture, hospitality interiors, gallery walls, or architectural spaces seeking a piece that is both poetic and sculptural.
