Handmade ceramic wall sculpture - Unique piece
Anna Barlow is a London based British ceramic artist, whose work playfully explores the rich territory between visual indulgence and material mastery. Specialising in luscious, hyper-realistic ceramic sculptures of ice creams, cakes, and confections, Barlow creates pieces that are both technically astonishing and emotionally evocative. Her work is a celebration of abundance, nostalgia, and the fleeting pleasure of the edible, transformed into something permanent and precious.
Originally from Bristol, Barlow obtained a BA (Hons) in Ceramics at the Bath Spa College University and has since then refined her ceramic expertise through years of experimental practice. Her sculptural process is notably complex: she combines different clays and firing temperatures—earthenware, porcelain, stoneware—to replicate a variety of textures and consistencies, from melting ice cream to whipped frosting. Each piece is meticulously glazed to achieve surfaces so realistic they seem almost wet, sticky, or melting—challenging our perception and triggering a visceral reaction.
Drawing on themes of ritual, celebration, and desire, Barlow’s decadent compositions appear on the edge of collapse, frozen in the moment before they melt or are consumed. Her work occupies a unique intersection of technical virtuosity, humorous excess, and quiet commentary on consumerism and ephemerality. Every piece is a testament not only to her remarkable craftsmanship but also to her ability to transform something transient and tempting into enduring, seductive sculpture.

Glazed ceramic sculptural vase by Freyja Dorren Unique Contemporary UK
Located in London, GB
Freyja Dorren, Watering Hole, 2023, glazed earthenware- 50cm Height X 35cm Width
Unique piece.
Freyja Dorren, born and raised in Edinburgh and now based in London, is a recent graduate at the Royal College of Art Ceramics & Glass MA which follows a Degree in Textiles at Central Saint Martins. Freyja has always been influenced by the life of cities, exploring the marriage of old historical aspects of architecture with new and modern developments into our ever-growing cities. Her interest in architecture stems from taking walks through the city of London, discovering old classical buildings, brutalist creations and high-tech features all within a short distance walk from each other. This led her to create work that is a nod to the past and the present, with a graphic style and finish, combining the undiscerning elements of a city. Each piece she has created is influenced by interior detailing, deriving from places such as the V&A Museum and other historic landmarks within London. Freyja's textile print background enables her to transform the tactile surface to create a unique interwoven surface, giving a current relevance to the object, bringing a contemporary twist to each landmark detail, magnifying repetition, and significance of history when we design.
The starting point of this sculptural vase is Victorian architectural...

Unique Porcelain Sculpture by Olivia Walker
By Olivia Walker
Located in New York, NY
Nest I, 2022 (Porcelain, C. 4.3 in. H x 6.7 in. W x 6.7 in. D., Object No.: 3922)
Olivia Walker works in porcelain to create pieces that explore the symbiotic relationship between growth and decay, as well as the relationship between nature and man-made. All of her works start by being thrown on the wheel, before being built upon with thousands of individually-applied fragments of porcelain. Many of her vessels are thrown and altered – they are cut away and reassembled in the leather-hard stage which allows her to deconstruct the form of the bowl and then build up a surface on this new form. Olivia starts from a set point on a bowl and lets these organic accretions spread out and grow – ‘eating through," or growing over the form beneath. They make reference to organisms such as coral and fungus, but remain abstract.
Olivia Walker was born in 1985 and lives and works in London. Her work was featured in numerous publications including Emerging Potters Magazine, Clay Craft...
