About the Item
A stunning Italian mid-century modernist art pottery wall plaque or shallow bowl decorated with a textured design and signed to the base. The heavily hand-made red clay plaque is of rounded form with a raised rim and is decorated with a raised wheel shaped linear design hand painted in black and set against a patterned textured ground in green with blackened highlights. The plaque is stunning and has a black glazed base and bears an incised signature which we have been unable to identify along with an impressed ITALY. Two small holes have been applied to the foot rim to allow the plaque/bowl to be hung.
In excellent condition without loss, damage or repair.
Provenance: Acquired from the UK Art Market and reluctantly offered for sale by the present owner!
