About the Item
A monumental testament to mid-century Brutalism, this wall sculpture—designed by Marc Weinstein for Marc Creates in the 1970s—reimagines nature through industrial form. Its structure is composed of welded metal nails, each serving as both root and branch in a stylized, architectural tree. Interspersed among the textured metal tendrils are circular leaf-like clusters, lavishly accented in glowing gold tones that offer a radiant counterpoint to the raw, metallic intensity of the nails.
Meticulously crafted through manual brazing—an intricate process involving oxygen and acetylene torchwork—each component was attended to with careful intention, giving the work a vibrant energy and compelling presence.

About Marc Weinstein:
Artist and inventor Mark Weinstein of Saint Louis Missouri, established Marc Creates Inc. in 1967. Ten years prior, Mark was fresh out of High School and had just decided to go to work with his father who owned a scrap metal yard. His father's scrap yard soon became the catalyst for Weinstein's inventive art.
After Weinstein began working for his father at Federal Salvage and Supply in St. Louis in 1957, he had a hard time seeing the scrap metal as mere junk to be sold for weight. Weinstein began experimenting with different welding techniques after learning the basics from a local handyman. Welding brought Weinstein's artistic abilities to the surface and by the early 1960s, he was transforming scrap metal into works of art.

Studio Made Golf Club Floor Lamp Pop Art Sculpture
By Ettore Sottsass
Located in Chattanooga, TN
One-of-a-kind studio-crafted floor lamp built from repurposed golf clubs, this piece blends functional lighting with bold sculptural art.
Actual golf clubs—identifiable by their brand and sizing—have been cut, shaped, and welded into a long neck and wedge-like base in the form of a classic golf club. At its foot nestles a large 5-inch diameter golf ball, cradled among the irons, integrating whimsy and meaning into the structure. The entire lamp is metal, and the weight and feel are substantial.
The surface carries a clean white enamel finish that brings a contemporary Pop-Art sensibility to the form. The repaint is recent and mostly even; up close there may be minor mishaps or texture irregularities in the enamel, but nothing that detracts from its visual impact. The lamp is in working order; it emits a bright, directional light pleasing in both ambient and accent settings. Shade is not included, so the form remains clean and undistracted by extras.
This lamp is perfect as a centerpiece in a living room, studio, or gallery-like space where it can be appreciated from multiple angles. The strong silhouette, melding sporting equipment with art and lighting, makes it a conversation starter. It pairs beautifully with minimalist decor, warm woods, polished metals, or dramatic accent walls.
For collectors and design lovers who prize originality, sculptural lighting, or whimsical Pop-Art hybrids, this floor lamp is rare and memorable. It’s more than illumination—it’s functional art with personality and presence.
