One of the most renowned sculptures ever created by Robert Tait McKenzie, this medal depicting three nude male hurdlers represents, in miniature form, a relief created in 1912 for the facade of the Olympic stadium in Stockholm. McKenzie was, for many years, the world's leading sculptor of young athletes, and he often used student athletes at the University of Pennsylvania, where he served as Professor of Physical Education, as his models.
