About the Item

This is a tropical fish carving frame made in Japan, probably around the 20th century. The frame is made of beech wood, and the base of the picture is paulownia wood. Different types of wood are carved into the shape of a tropical fish, and grooves are carved into the base and fitted into it. You can see that it was completed through a time-consuming process. The paulownia wood grain has a soft expression that seems to represent the inside of the ocean, and it beautifully expresses the tropical fish slowly migrating. It is a work that makes you feel like you are looking into the ocean, but at the same time you can feel the warmth of the wood. The condition of the item is good, but since it is old, the tail part of the black tropical fish is slightly chipped. Also, the fin part of the small tropical fish is warped. The top of the frame is also gently warped, but it does not affect the viewing. This is a very rare item. Why not decorate your living room with it? Recommended. Weight: 2.85kg
