About the Item

A pair of elaborately carved and detailed solid teak wood and cypress windows. Completely hand crafted with amazingly precise hand cut open work, mortise and tenon joinery (no nails or metal hardware used at all). Windows open inward on pin hinges. Acquired from a fine estate in San Francisco where they were mounted on the wall, so they come with a board on the back for easy hanging. These are truly exquisite. China, early to mid 19th century (possibly older).
