About the Item
A large elegant pair of decorative wooden wall panels, black lacquered with gold gilt on gesso backing. Both matching with gilt Empire Urns, the gesso surface has a wave effect which catches the light and gives great depth and texture to the pieces.
Standing at over 5ft in height, they add real presence to a room, they work equally well either side of a doorway or as a matching pair hanging side-by-side. Both panels have a brass loop at the top for wall hanging.
In very good condition, some age related wear to the gilt and corners which add to their authenticity.
Probably early 20th Century - Well proportioned, decorative pieces.
