Rare antique wrought iron trade sign, in the form of a very decorative key, that once hung outside a French locksmith and key maker’s shop.
It has the most beautiful patina with faint remnants of old dark green paint. The intricate wrought iron work and detailed craftsmanship is superb. It would make an exceptional decorative focal point for inside and out.
A rare survivor of French commercial heritage, this sign is both a work of sculptural decorative art and an evocative piece of social history. Suitable for display in a private collection, museum, or as a dramatic focal point in a design-led interior.
